Lara Stone Reveals She Lost A Modeling Job Because She Was Pregnant - Webmaster News

New Post has been published on http://www.outils-webmaster.eu/lara-stone-reveals-she-lost-a-modeling-job-because-she-was-pregnant/

Lara Stone recently revealed she lost a job after she found out she was pregnant. Here, the Dutch model poses as she arrives for the screening of the film ‘The Search’ at the 67th edition of the Cannes Film Festival in Cannes, southern France, on May 21, 2014. | ALBERTO PIZZOLI via Getty Images

Pregnancy apparently cost supermodel Lara Stone a job.

The 30-year-old beauty found out she was pregnant with her first child with husband David Walliams before an important modeling gig in 2012. She decided to tell those who had booked her that she was expecting, but when she arrived on the job, she found out she had been replaced.

“I was really upset at the time,” Stone told Porter magazine, per the London Evening Standard. “I hadn’t yet had my three-month scan and I felt really vulnerable about everything. I no longer had a job. That was it — I had to just stop everything that I knew; the way my life was.”

She gave birth to a baby boy in May 2013 and is getting back to work, but the transition has not necessarily been easy.

“I’ve had a few meetings because when they hear pregnancy they freak out a bit,” she told Porter, “so they need to see if I fit in their clothes. Everyone’s so nice to you all the time. And it’s like, ‘Ugh,’ you don’t have to be. It feels quite alienating because it’s like everyone’s just lying to you. Because everyone’s like, ‘You’re great!’ And you’re, ‘Well, obviously I’m not.’”

Stone spoke out about the difficulties she faced during and after pregnancy in Clean & Lean Pregnancy Guide, a book authored by her trainer, celebrity fitness guru James Duigan.

“I was in maternity jeans at nine weeks. I was bloated all over, had limp greasy hair, no energy and I could eat (and waddle) for England,” she wrote. After giving birth, she had to deal with cruel comments in the tabloid about her body. “There is so much pressure these days to look fantastic during pregnancy and to lose the weight within days of leaving [the] hospital. I have nothing against hose who do, but it’s not normal. Your body changes hugely during pregnancy and it takes time to go back.”

Melissa McCarthy Reveals The Frustrating Reason She"s Starting A Plus-Size Clothing Line - Webmaster News

New Post has been published on http://www.outils-webmaster.eu/melissa-mccarthy-reveals-the-frustrating-reason-shes-starting-a-plus-size-clothing-line/

The whole “necessity is the mother of invention” thing is usually a sentiment we can get on board with. But when it comes to, say, a lack of trendy plus-size offerings, it just makes us kind of angry.

According on Melissa McCarthy’s interview with Redbook magazine (she’s their July 2014 cover star!), we have a feeling she agrees. The “Mike & Molly” actress sat down with the glossy to talk marriage, fame and the reason she wants to launch her own line of plus-size clothing:

“When I go shopping, most of the time I’m disappointed. Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers—very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people—and they all said no.”

Even with the insurgence of inclusion by way of online plus-size retailers and swimsuit calendars that feature beautiful, curvy women, the fact that McCarthy couldn’t find someone to dress her for the Oscars is extremely discouraging. No woman should have to feel that the only way to find clothing they feel good in is by, well, making it themselves.

Luckily, the actress has never let her body dictate her self-worth. Not only has she had quite an impressive career, she has also emerged as one of the funniest women in Hollywood. Not to mention, she pretty much always looks great.

Take that, designers. Check out the cover below, and head to Redbook to see more.

Google Reveals New Images of Android Wear Apps - Webmaster News

New Post has been published on http://www.outils-webmaster.eu/google-reveals-new-images-of-android-wear-apps/

Google has revealed a little more about what Android Wear, its new platform for wearable devices, will look like.

Android developer and Google employee Timothy Jordan showed off some examples of how push notifications may look on smartwatches running Android Wear.

The screenshots show notifications from four different apps: the Nest app for the Nest’s Protect smoke detector, game Clash of Clans, podcasts app Pocket Casts and a calendar app.

“One of the coolest parts of Android Wear is how it extends the Android platform to a new generation of devices out of the box, without any need to update your app,” Jordan said in a Google+ post. “If you have a notification-enabled app, those notifications will generally just work on your new wearable.”

Interestingly, two of the apps are working in conjunction with a separate device: the Nest Protect Thermostat and a Chromecast. The Nest app notifications feature an alert saying it has detected smoke and a subsequent notification letting him know the smoke has cleared.

Notifications from the Pocket Casts app, which are being streamed via a Chromecast, show how you can control audio playback from a smartwatch.

The other two apps- Clash of Clans and a calendar app, depict push notifications that look much like the ones you would see on your smartphone. Jordan said these notifications are just the beginning of what will be possible with Android Wear, saying future versions could include features like voice replies.

Google first revealed Android Wear in March, which was immediately followed by announcements from LG and Motorola saying they would be among the first to make Android Wear-compatible smartwatches.

While we’ve since learned more about the Motorola’s Moto 360, we have yet to see many Android Wear apps. Pocket teased a prototype of Android Wear app earlier this year when Google first released a software development kit for the platform.

Android Wear will likely be playing a big role at the Google I/O conference next month and the company is expected to reveal more details about the platform.

Mortal Kombat Poster Possibly Reveals Upcoming Ed Boon Announcement - Webmaster News

New Post has been published on http://www.outils-webmaster.eu/mortal-kombat-poster-possibly-reveals-upcoming-ed-boon-announcement/

Mortal Kombat creator Ed Boon has been teasing an upcoming reveal for the past few weeks, but a recent leaked poster (shown above) all but confirms that a new Mortal Kombat is on the way soon.

The image, posted to Reddit, doesn’t reveal much about the game outside what the game might be outside of the iconic Mortal Kombat logo, the tagline “Who’s next?”, and a brutally fractured spine.

Boon’s cryptic tweets have included an innocuous picture of a car…with the logo MK X, and a countdown which is set to end on Monday, June 2 (since we’re on five today).

So, what’s the announcement going to be? is this Mortal Kombat 10, a new cross-over game, or something else entirely? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
