Instagram Adds 10 New Features, So Anyone Can Be a Photo Geek - Webmaster News

New Post has been published on http://www.outils-webmaster.eu/instagram-adds-10-new-features-so-anyone-can-be-a-photo-geek/

Photo filters are now just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to editing images on Instagram.

The photo-sharing service announced 10 new editing tools on Tuesday for both iOS and Android. In addition to new adjustments like contrast, brightness and saturation, Instagram’s filters have also been tweaked; users can now adjust the filter’s intensity with a slide bar.

Instagram first started utilizing the slide bar in March with the app’s Lux tool, which serves as a fill light of sorts for dark photos. That slide bar is now available on a number of editing features, giving users more control over how dramatic their edits appear.

“All of us [at Instagram] are kind of photo geeks, but we’re trying to bridge the gap between being a photo geek and the rest of the world,” says Peter Deng, director of product at Instagram. “Instagram’s always been about taking these tools that were previously inaccessible … and making them accessible for free for everyone that uses Instagram.”

All of Instagram’s new editing tools come with a slide bar to set different intensity levels.

The company has been building the new suite of tools for less than six months, Deng told Mashable. For some, like the vignette tool that affects the lighting around the edges of an image, Instagram engineers studied film cameras to determine how light is bent through different lenses, says Deng.

The full list of editing tools include Adjust (lets you crop and straighten photos simultaneously), brightness, contrast, warmth, saturation, highlights, shadows, vignette, sharpen and filter strength (the border tool is now within the filter strength setting, too).

More Instagram editing tools are on the way, although Deng wouldn’t specify any; they will be added to the app as they are finished. Instagram expects the new editing tools to be available to iOS and Android users on Tuesday as the app updates are pushed through to the App Store and the Google Play Store.

This photo, taken at the ‘end of the world’ swing in Banos, Ecuador, captures a man on the swing overlooking an erupting Mt. Tungurahua. The eruption took place on February 1st, 2014. Minutes after the photo was taken, we had to evacuate the area because of an incoming ash cloud. Location: Banos, Ecuador

4. Allure

Seeing the shafts of light in the canyon is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen. It was a surreal feeling being surrounded by the towering cliffs. The only way I could capture this special moment of the weeping walls was after an incredibly torrential rain. I knew I had to get to a shallow portion of the river to unfold my tripod. I was drenched from head to toe by the falling water. Mist and rain covered the camera, but I fired a few shots. As I stood in awe of the scene, the sun broke through for a few seconds and cast God’s rays into the side lit waterfall. Location: Columbia River Gorge, Oregon

It is the world’s largest highly acidic lake (pH<0.5) and it lies inside a larger caldera of the Ijen Volcanoes. To capture this photo, I had to start climbing a steep 3km track before sunrise. Upon arrival, I waited until the sun was just behind Mount Merapi, allowing me to expose the lake’s turquoise color in shadow while the rest of the environment was well-lit. Luckily, the wind had also swept across just in time, clearing the rising smoke to expose the wondrous landscape in-front of me. Location: Kawah Ijen, Mount Merapi, East Java, Indonesia

Amanda Seyfried and Charlize Theron’s Height Difference Is Ridiculous at the “A Million Ways” Photo Call - Webmaster News

New Post has been published on http://www.outils-webmaster.eu/amanda-seyfried-and-charlize-therons-height-difference-is-ridiculous-at-the-a-million-ways-photo-call/

Amanda Seyfried and Charlize Theron attended a photo call for their latest movie, A Million Ways to Die in the West in London, England on Tuesday. We are almost always stunned by these two actresses’ photo-op looks, however, this time, we just couldn’t overlook the huge height difference between Amanda and Charlize in the pictures. Check it out — the disparity is almost to the point of ridiculousness:

And this is even after putting Amanda in skyscraper stilettos and Charlize in itty-bitty kitten-heel stumps. Nice try, stylists, but no dice. To be fair to Amanda, it is difficult not to be dwarfed standing next to statuesque Charlize, which a host of celebrities including Kristen Stewart and Sean Penn can attest to.

Posing on their own, Amanda and Charlize blew us away with their ensembles, as per usual. Amanda took the edgy route in an Alexander McQueen pre-fall 2014 LBD with ornate gold embellishments and a zip-off bottom hem. Charlize was the classy casual lady in a Stella McCartney kimono-top LBD, which looked deceptively plain at first but actually had a python texture.

Amanda’s vertiginous 120-mm. heels are by Giuseppe Zanotti. We spotted the same exact style most recently on Adriana Lima. A red-strapped version with lower 110-mm. heels is available at Zappos.

As for Charlize’s kitten heels, they are the Loeffler Randall “Lillit” sandals. Charlize’s black nubuck variation is currently marked down at Zappos and Shopbop. An electric blue color can be found at Amazon, while a silver version is up at Zappos.
